Hi! My name is Michaela, and I am so excited to be the Lead Teacher in the Iris Classroom at Trinity Montessori Academy. I was born and raised in the Hudson Valley, New York, and attended Hofstra University where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences with a minor in Disability Studies.
For the past eight years, I have had the joy of working with children of all ability levels in a variety of settings, including preschools, elementary schools, and private homes. Supporting young children as they grow, learn, laugh, and discover the world is truly what I love most. I enjoy building meaningful relationships with both children and families and creating a warm, welcoming classroom community.
My passion for language and communication continues to grow. I am currently working toward fluency in both Spanish and American Sign Language. I have long admired the Montessori philosophy and am excited to begin working toward my Montessori certification as I continue my journey in this child-centered approach to education.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy gardening, traveling, reading, going for runs, and spending time with my family. A fun fact about me is that I was a competitive dancer for 16 years and also spent seven years singing in an all-treble-voices a cappella group. I also love visiting Universal Studios, which is my favorite vacation destination!
With warmth, patience, and a genuine love for early childhood education, I am committed to creating a nurturing, playful, and inclusive environment where every child feels safe, valued, and inspired to grow.
I look forward to getting to know each of your children and partnering with you in their learning and growth this year.
